Su A Chae is an interdisciplinary artist and educator whose primary focus is painting. Her work explores the asymmetrical balance that creates paradoxical spatial relationships and the ambivalence associated with cultural identity. She also attended the Tyler School of Art Summer Painting Intensive. Recognized as a finalist for the Hopper Prize and a recipient of the Windgate Scholarship Awards, Chae's work has been widely exhibited, including at the Painting Center, Young Space, Paradise Palace, Collar Works, 5-50 Gallery, and has been featured in New American Paintings, White Hot Magazine, I Like Your Work, and more. Chae has attended residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, Wassaic Project, Penland School of Craft, and ACRE. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Arkansas.
