Shihori Yamamoto
Shihori Yamamoto was born in Japan, in 1988. She has recently graduated from Pratt Institute with her Master of Fine Arts emphasis in New Forms. She also received her Bachelor of Architecture from Musashino Art University (Tokyo), in 2011. Recent awards include Vermont Studio Center Writer/Artist Grant, The 2011 ITO Foundation Fellowship for Japanese Student, and Musashino Art University Grant. She was an Artist-in-Residence at Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, VT) in 2013. She creates site-specific architectural installations. She has been constantly altering environments into red, orange, and yellow, since the warm colors make her feel relaxed and protected. Her works have been shown both in New York and Tokyo.
