Nancy Lepo
Nancy Lepo credits academic studies in engineering drawing, architectural rendering, and sciences with sharpening her visualization and drawing skills. This strengthens her belief in the power of drawing to convey information. She developed her hyperrealist technique because of interests in impressionism and fascination with black and white photography. Pen-and-ink is her preferred medium. She recently added watercolor pencils as another different means to draw.
Lepo’s drawings show in numerous private collections throughout the United States. A series of her drawings hangs permanently in the Boys Town Residential Treatment Center in Omaha, Nebraska. Previous shows include the 2023 Nebraska Artist Biennial, 2021 Nebraska Artist Biennial, 2019 Nebraska Artist Biennial, 2023 PACE New Masters exhibition, 2022 PACE New Masters inaugural group exhibition, and solo exhibitions at the Fred Simon Gallery and Nebraska Governor’s Residence. Lepo is intrigued by the challenge of pushing limits with what can be done with simple drawing materials.
