Liz Heller
Personification synesthesia is where an individual subconsciously imbues a personality to inanimate objects, a phenomena Liz has experienced all her life. Her unique perspective on objects is the trigger for her practice. Liz aesthetically seeks the intersection of art, industry and consumerism, incorporating the traditions of various industrial tradecrafts then manipulates them to alter 'normal' perceptions just as personification synesthesia has altered her own. Liz Heller is a visual artist, born and raised in Miami, FL. After earning her BA in Business Administration at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, Heller has made the Midwest her home receiving her Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Fine Art from Columbia College Chicago in 2010 and completed her MFA at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 2014. After Heller completes her residency at The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts she will be an artist in residence at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO.
