Laurie Shapiro
Laurie Shapiro creates immersive dreamscapes based on interconnectivity, intuitive listening, and oneness with nature. She received her BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and has exhibited in solo and group shows nationwide. Various institutions have commissioned and shown Shapiro’s artwork, including the Dyer Arts Center, San Diego Museum of Art, San Luis Obispo Museum of Art, Contemporary Jewish Museum, Otherworld, Weedmaps, and Walter Studios. Shapiro has completed artist residencies at the American Academy in Rome, the Kala Art Institute, and the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles. She has been awarded several grants, including a California Council for the Arts Grant, and her work can be found internationally in public and private collections, including at SACI Florence, Bilkent University, and the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles.
