Lauren Whalen
Lauren Whalen woke up one morning in 2007, wrote a short story and hasn't stopped since. Her thoughts on film, theater, books and other delights have appeared on The Huffington Post, the RedEye 'Hoods blog of the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Theater Beat, The Film Yap and Persephone Magazine. Her article "Hey There Delilah" was chosen as one of the best in Persephone Magazine's two-year history. Lauren has studied writing with acclaimed authors Rebecca Makkai and Molly Moynahan. She was a KHN writer-in-residence in 2010, and relishes the opportunity to work on her contemporary young adult fiction without the distractions of her home city, Chicago or her cat, Versace.
