Joanna Tam
Joanna Tam is a Boston-based visual artist. Her interdisciplinary art practice examines the issues of communication and miscommunication, displacement and social interaction in our contemporary globalized society. Joanna's work has been exhibited at Laconia Gallery, Boston; PS122 Gallery, New York; Bar Lane Studios Gallery, York, UK; Pasajist, Istanbul; Howard Art Project, Dorchester; Grace Exhibition Space, Brooklyn; Jewett Art Gallery at Wellesley College, Wellesley among others. She is the recipient of Aesthetica Short Film Festival Best Art Film Award (2012), People's Choice Award (Subcategory) and the Third Prize (Subcategory) at Prix de la Photographie Paris (2009). Originally from Hong Kong, she received a BS degree in Computer Science from the Boston College and an MFA in Studio Art from School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston / Tufts University.
