Ivan Young
Ivan Young is a 2nd-year doctoral student in English at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he studies and teaches poetry. When he’s not writing or studying, he likes to cook, ride his bike, and binge-watch television shows. He is the author of the poetry collection Smell of Salt, Ghost of Rain (Brick House Books) and the chapbook A Shape in the Waves (Stepping Stones Press). He recently won the 2017 Apple Valley Review’s Editor’s Prize, was the 2013 Norton Girault Literary Prize winner, and is a three-time Pushcart Prize nominee. He grew up in Columbia, South Carolina, where he earned a B. S. in Zoology from Clemson University and an M. F. A. in Creative Writing from University of South Carolina. He now lives in Omaha with his wife and two children.
