Khaddafina Mbabazi is a writer and musician from Kampala. A winner of the PEN/Dau Prize for Emerging Writers, her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Ploughshares, VQR, The Johannesburg Review of Books, Best Debut Short Stories 2021 and elsewhere. She holds an MFA from the University of Virginia where she was a Henry Hoyns Fellow teaching fiction as well as a non-fiction course on cosmopolitanism. She was an inaugural Oxbelly fellow in 2023 and in 2024 will be a fellow-in-residence at MacDowell. She is at work on a novel and a collection of short fiction.
