David Meischen
In the fall of 2010, David Meischen spent a month at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. Four of the stories he drafted in residency have been published, one of them in The Gettysburg Review. Meischen has recent fiction in Copper Nickel, Salamander, Valparaiso Fiction Review, and elsewhere. He won the Talking Writing Prize for Short Fiction, 2012, and the Writers' League of Texas Manuscript Contest in Mainstream Fiction, 2011. He has a New York agent enthusiastically representing his novel in stories. Also a poet, Meischen has been writing poetry and teaching the writing of poetry for thirty years. He has recent poems in Southern Poetry Review, Borderlands, Naugatuck River Review, and San Pedro River Review. Co-founder of Dos Gatos Press and co-editor of Wingbeats I and II, collections of poetry writing exercises, Meischen lives in Albuquerque, NM, with his husband-also his co-publisher and co-editor-Scott Wiggerman.
