David Ecker
David Ecker is a pianist and composer who merges classic jazz with a penchant for the cinematic. He attended Columbia University’s Center For Jazz Studies, where he studied with Chris Washburne, Don Sickler, Ben Waltzer, and Andy Milne. His debut album, Songs from the Other Day, was released in 2020 and has since gone on to garner more than 100,000 streams. He recently released his latest single “Respite (Despite),” which features veteran musicians Curtis Nowosad (Braxton Cook, Marc Cary) and Barry Stephenson (Jon Batiste, Nicolas Payton), and was recorded remotely during the height of lockdown. A full album with the group will be released under the same name in 2023. He lives in Glen Rock, NJ with his wife.
