Davana Wilkins
Davana Wilkins is an interdisciplinary artist living in Hammond, Louisiana. She recently graduated with a B.A. from Southeastern Louisiana University where she was two-time recipient of the Gail Hood Endowed Scholarship and the Carl Thorp Memorial Scholarship for artists. Her work has been shown in numerous group exhibitions including Art Melt and Venus Envy in Baton Rouge (LA), While in Class in Chicago, (IL) and a solo exhibition titled Growth in Hammond, (LA). She just returned from her second studio assistantship with Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts. Her work is about the accumulation of time and materials to create tangible objects. She is investigating surface, texture, and the ambiguity of nature.
