Anna Stachurska
Anna Stachurska is a composer, pianist and music educator currently living in Seattle. Born in Bytom, Poland she studied with Zbigniew Bujarski, Krzysztof Meyer and Marek Chołoniewski before completing her MM in Music Composition at the University of Washington under the guidance of Juan Pampin and Joël-François Durand. Currently she is a doctoral candidate at the University of Washington. Among her musical accolades are The Commission from the Polish Institute of Music and Dance - for the piece isolated-disintegrated for flute and live electronics, prizes at composition competitions in Radom and Kraków, Poland, as well as Davis Fellowship, Brechemin Family Foundation Scholarship and William Bergsma Endowment for Excellence in Music Composition Fellowship. Her music has been played in United States and Europe by performers such as Daria Binkowski, Pascal Gallois, JACK Quartet and Talea Ensemble among others.
