Angeles Cossio
Angeles Cossio is an artist, educator and curator based in the New York metropolitan area. Drawing on her experiences in this densely populated corridor, her work examines where the natural world and its processes overlaps with everyday human activity. She received her B.F.A in Painting from SUNY Buffalo State and her M.F.A from Montclair State University. Cossio’s work has been exhibited and screened at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, the Sheldon Museum of Art, Bemis Center of Contemporary Art, Geary Contemporary in NYC, Manifold Gallery in Chicago, the Bronx Art Space, and ArtHelix in Brooklyn. She is a recipient of a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant and was awarded a Gateway to the Arts Grant, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts. She has been awarded residencies at ACRE, Chashama, The Wassiac Project, and the Hambidge Center. She teaches photography and drawing at St. John’s University.
