Michael and Anne Burton are a husband and wife team who often collaborate on animations and exhibitions. Together for KHN, they have composed an exhibition of stop-motion video animation and accompanying digital prints. The animation, entitled “Currents,” has been created by photographing 131 objects and then, printing and cutting each object out to animate each a frame at a time. They describe the piece as “an act of play”—a way of thinking with the hands. They note that often something as simple as the proximity of two objects can evolve into a complex narrative.
