Gwen Walstrand
Gwen is an Associate Professor of Photography at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Her work has been included in exhibitions throughout the United States including shows at Muse Gallery in Philadelphia, SoHo Photo Gallery in New York City, University of Toledo's Center for the Visual Arts Gallery in Toledo Ohio, Washington Gallery of Photography in Bethesda, Maryland, East Carolina University, Holly Fine Art Gallery in Lubbock, TX, and Seton Hall University's Walsh Library Gallery in South Orange, New Jersey. In June of 2008, Gwen is included in an upcoming three-person exhibition at Santa Reparata San Gallo 53 Gallery in Florence, Italy.
She has received numerous exhibition awards as well as residency awards and fellowships to support her work. Gwen's work has been published in Orion Magazine-Nature/Culture/Place and featured in many exhibition catalogs. She's given presentations about her work at the Midwest Society for Photographic Education, the San Francisco Art Institute, and the Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska.
Gwen has taught photography classes in beginning black and white photography, large format photography, non-silver processes, photography history, advanced senior seminar, art theory, and landscape theory.
