liz gonzález grew up in San Bernardino County, California. She writes poetry, fiction, and memoir. Her writing is forthcoming or has appeared in Litbreak Magazine, Cultural Weekly, Askew Poetry Journal, BorderSenses Literary Magazine, 2016 Writing from Inlandia, The Coiled Serpent: Poets Arising from the Cultural Quakes and Shifts of Los Angeles, Wide Awake: The Poets of Los Angeles and Beyond, and elsewhere. Her recent awards include a 2016 Incite / Insight Award from the Arts Council for Long Beach and an Irvine Fellowship at the Lucas Artists Residency Program. She lives in North Long Beach, California, with her Jack Chi buddy Chacho and sound artist Jorge Martin. She directs Uptown Word & Arts and is a member of the Macondo Workshop. She works as a writing consultant and teaches creative writing through Angels Gate Cultural Center and UCLA Extension Writers' Program. www.lizgonzalez.com
