Erica Gionfriddo
ARCOS combines choreography, theater, sound design, music, and interactive media to push past the lines that separate artistic disciplines and to innovate new forms of transmedia performance relevant to contemporary audiences, which explore the complexity of being human and the turbulent process of traditions in flux. Erica Gionfriddo is Executive and Associate Artist Director of ARCOS, for which she serves as choreographer and performer. She began formal dance training at age sixteen and has performed repertoire of choreographers including Anna Sokolow, David Parsons, Robert Moses, Gail Gilbert, Arturo Fernandez, and John Lehrer. She has been commissioned to choreograph for Moorehead State University, Shenandoah Conservatory, Motion X Dance DC, and INTERDANSA, where her work toured thirty cities in Catalonia, Spain. Erica is also a certified Pilates Mat Teacher Trainer, GYROKINESIS® and GYROTONIC® trainer, focusing on the individual's capabilities.
