Erika Diehl
Erika Diehl was raised by wolves in the mountains of south eastern Alaska. She paints about the act of looking, the dialectic of interior and exterior and the experience of time through color. Evocative of landscape and vaguely anthropomorphic, her paintings occupy a space between representation and abstraction. She received her Bachelor of Art in Painting from Portland State University in 2011, and her Master of Fine Art from the Hoffberger School of Painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2013. She has received fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, PLAYA, The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Jentel.
