Shelly Bartek
Shelly Bartek is an internationally recognized illustrator who has recently expanded into the field of fine art. Interested in exploring personal expression, symbolism and story- telling, she is currently working on a series of large scale, landscape paintings in oil and gold leaf on canvas and wood.
As a professional art illustrator with more than twenty years' experience, Shelly Bartek has earned national and international recognition. In 2006, she received the prestigious commission from the United Nations for its International Collective Stamp series. She has accomplished art projects for more than fifty prestigious international clients including American Airlines, A T & T, Barton & Guestier French Winery, Coors Brewery, Kraft, Paramount Pictures and Wall Street Journal. Bartek's work has been collected privately and exhibited in galleries in California, Florida and Missouri. In Nebraska, her work received rave reviews in Omaha's World Herald Art News.
Shelly Bartek's talent was recognized early on at the age of seventeen when she won the First Place National Scholastic Award, a scholarship to the Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas, MO. Primarily self-taught, Bartek attended a residency at the Red Ink Studios in San Jose, California and studied independently with noted artists, most recently with Vladislav Andrejev, Director of the Prosopon School of Iconography, New York.
