Anthony Barilla

Anthony Barilla is a musician, writer, and performance artist based in Houston, Texas. Between 1998 and 2007 he worked principally with Infernal Bridegroom Productions, a Houston-based theater company. As a director, composer and performer he contributed to 35 IBP productions, collaborating with artists like Suzan-Lori Parks and Daniel Johnston. In 2007 he moved to Kosovo, where he founded a small non-profit library and worked with the Mitrovica Rock School, an organization restoring rock music culture to the ethnically divided town of Mitrovica. In 2012 DiverseWorks Artspace premiered his original monologue Apocalypse Town. He contributes music to the national radio program "This American Life" and is currently working on a multi-year collaboration called Whole Wide Water with writer Lindsay Kayser, a songwriting collaboration with Merel van Dijk, and a work of his own called Disputed Territories.
