RE-ORIGINATION
RE-ORIGINATION
This exhibition frames all life and death as an ongoing process of re-origination – the positioning and repositioning of the world with gestures of intention and care. The works connect fiber and devotional practice with ecology as interdependent processes.
The challenge for stewardship of a creative kind is to engage the grief of repeated ecological loss while at the same time cultivating the energy of continuation through creative intervention and expressive improvisatory contemplations.
Re-origination and continuation require presence, patience, grace, resilience, skill, and commitment when engaging beings at our mutual intersection of conditions and points of access.
This relational experience releases concepts of attachment, arrival, or completion. Emerging from the arenas of seasonality and intensive time, it sets into motion iterative, shape-shifting practices and ceremonies of fidelity that remake the world.
