Meagan Dion
PUBLIC ART AND ARTISTS PROGRAM SPECIALIST
Meagan administers the state-mandated 1% for Art public art program and the Individual Artist Fellowships Program at Nebraska Arts Council. She also oversees the Fred Simon Gallery and Governor’s Residence Exhibition Program. In these roles, she strives for the ease of accessibility to creativity and art experiences.
After receiving her BA in Art History at the University of Central Missouri in 2011, she earned her MS in Arts Administration at Drexel University in Philadelphia and has held a variety of art-related positions in museums, galleries, and other non-profit organizations. Her role as the Lead Curator at the Washington Pavilion Visual Arts Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota offered opportunities to think critically while managing exhibitions and collections.
In her previous roles, her favorite aspect was developing productive and meaningful relationships with artists, peers, and constituents. She is enthusiastic about doing the same in Nebraska. Meagan is also a yoga instructor and enjoys spending time outside gardening and exploring.
