Resident artists occasionally wish to expand their professional practices and engage with our local community. In the past, artists have created site-specific artworks, given readings, performed compositions, shared research, recorded local voices, presented short demos, facilitated participation, filmed landscapes, and taught informal workshops. While KHN does not have the staff to oversee community outreach projects, we are eager to support artists in the success of their artworks and their residency goals. The Center may know of community resources and opportunities that may be of interest to artists visiting Nebraska City for a short time.
Interested individuals and organizations from our community are welcome to reach out to us if you are interested in providing an opportunity or finding out how to become more involved with our visual artists, writers, or composers. The public is always invited to our free monthly Third Thursday Open Studio events, where the community may meet artists, ask questions, and learn about their processes. Additionally, the Center hosts regular gallery receptions. Please see our Calendar of Events
for all upcoming activities.
